Roo Pouch – Kangaroo Leather Tote Bag

Looking for a tough-yet-stylish bag that can fit it all? Look no further! Michelle designs and makes these formidable bags from locally-sourced kangaroo leather, the strongest leather in the world, and arguably one of the most sustainable (at least in our corner of the globe!).

The bag is 52cm wide and 40cm tall when flat, with straps roughly 56cm long (from top of bag over arm). They're available in dusk-brown, black, and the always popular rustic brown (our favourite, and one we're glad Packer reintroduced recently). They're available with or without either an internal or external pocket, and can fit a heck of a lot of stuff. The thread used is of German-made upholstery quality, and with the occasional oiling, these bags will last a decade or more.

We source our hides from Packer Leather, located in our own Deception Bay. You can read about Packer's long family history and green credentials on their site, though suffice to say the leather would be wasted if not used, as the roos are culled each year, and the animals do much less harm than their hooved counterparts. We also strive to source the leather Packers cannot sell to larger producers, as we can work around small flaws and imperfections in ways production lines cannot. It's an incredibly durable leather, and we have pieces we made over a decade ago that are still going strong. We pride ourselves on making pieces that last, and pick out any that show flaws during their crafting, though please reach out to us if you experience any failings during reasonable use.
